Mafia-style attack in Ano Liosia: ‘Two masked men started firing’

At 10:36 PM, a witness described to newsit.gr a mafia-style assassination attempt in Ano Liosia. “I saw on Odysseas Elytis Street, near the gas station, a black armored vehicle with tinted windows being followed by a large-engine car with two masked individuals wielding an AK-47 and firing shots,” recounted the eyewitness. The witness continued, “The target vehicle proceeded toward Filis Avenue downhill, still being pursued by the second car. When they turned back upstream, I noticed the passenger of the pursuing vehicle making movements through his coat and continuing to fire for the next 150 meters.” The witness concluded, “The vehicle then attempted to switch lanes to escape, as did the pursuing car.” This incident has sparked concern over rising violence in Greece.
