Following a brief but constructive one-on-one meeting with Donald Trump, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and Keir Starmer at the Vatican on the sidelines of Pope Francis’s funeral, French President Emmanuel Macron took to social media regarding the war in Ukraine. Specifically, Macron stated today (26.04.2025) that he had a “very positive discussion with Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy” and that “Ukraine is ready for an unconditional ceasefire.” The French President emphasized that the so-called ‘Coalition of the Willing,’ led by France and the UK, will continue working to achieve this goal as well as lasting peace. In a post on platform X, Macron wrote, ‘Ending the war in Ukraine. This is the common goal we share with President Trump. Ukraine is ready for an unconditional ceasefire. President Zelenskyy reiterated this to me today. He would like to collaborate with Americans and Europeans to make this possible.’
