French President Emmanuel Macron has emphasized his opposition to any potential military operation that could overthrow Ali Khamenei in Iran. Simultaneously, Macron is calling for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Iran and a return to the negotiating table regarding Tehran’s nuclear program. Speaking to journalists, the French president stated that his American counterpart appears to have changed his stance since their meeting with G7 leaders in Canada, when Macron believed Donald Trump was pushing for peace between Israel and Iran. “We do not want Iran to acquire nuclear weapons,” stressed Macron. “However, the biggest mistake would be taking military action to overthrow the regime, as it would lead to chaos,” he warned.
