Lufthansa: 10,000 recruitments are coming ahead of Italian ITA acquisition

About 10,000 new ones are planned for this year by the air group, proving in practice that the travel industry knows a new boom after the coronavirus pandemic. In the same context in which recruitment is initiated in the German company Lufthansa, the acquisition of the Italian carrier ITA is expected to be finalised. CORVERSE In view of the expansion of its activities, Lufthansa is to hire around 2025 new employees. Only Lufthansa Technik will be added 2,000 seats, while approximately 800 pilots are sought. Employment opportunities will also exist for cabin crews, technical professions, administration and ground services. More than half of the posts concern the interior of Germany. After cutting 30,000 jobs during the pandemic, the largest airline group in Europe made known that in 2024 it received 350,000 applications and eventually hired 13,000 employees and will continue to increase its staff. Overall it currently employs more than 100,000 workers in 90 countries. In the same spirit, the German Travel Union (DRV) predicts that consumer travel costs will continue to increase this year, despite the difficult economic situation. Significant performance is expected to be recorded again by the South and next Monday, according to the German news agency dpa, it is estimated that the acquisition of ITA by Lufthansa will also be finalised, with the aim of strengthening activity on the South European market. However, as the German public television ARD broadcasts, the forthcoming acquisition is carefully examined by the European Commission, which has already set conditions for not excluding Lufthansa, Easyjet, Air France-KLM and British Airways with Iberia.
