Louka Katseli: ‘Alexis Tsipras Will Return to Politics – Yes to Center-Left Coalition’

in

Convicted that the former prime minister and leader of SYRIZA, Alexis Tsipras, will return to politics, presidential candidate Louka Katseli made an appearance. In a televised interview with Action24 and the broadcast “Behind the Lines,” Katseli emphasized that Tsipras, still a young politician, will inevitably re-enter politics. She noted that while his current focus is on lectures in the U.S., his events through the Tsipras Institute remain political in nature. Katseli believes that if Tsipras chooses to take a more active role upon his return, all parties would be open to such a possibility. When asked about PASOK’s openness under Tsipras, she stated it was not relevant as no party, including ND, currently has the independent strength to govern alone. This necessitates collaborations and convergences among parties. Katseli advocates for a unified front involving center-left and left-wing parties, including SYRIZA, PASOK, Movement for Freedom, and New Left. She emphasized the importance of overcoming fragmentation, stating that no single entity can act alone. Additionally, she expressed that the rise of Zoi Konstantopoulou’s Movement for Freedom is unsurprising, given its anti-systemic stance led by a woman, though its sustainability remains uncertain.
