Los Angeles: Cyclist Saved Phasian’s Table From His Burning House

In the video, the man appears to be coming out of his home in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles on Tuesday night (07.01.2025) loaded with bags full of items and holding paintings, as the fire threatened his neighborhood. CORVERSE Surrounded by smoke and while sparks were flying from everywhere, the man was one of about 30,000 people under evacuation orders due to the Palisades fire, which began Tuesday morning. “The backyard is on fire,” he told NBCLA. “I’m leaving here”. Several houses in the neighborhood were already on fire at about 21:30 when the man decided to leave on his bike. He took from the house paintings of value and handed them over to NBCLA journalist Robert Kovacik to guard them until he could recover them. DIVERSE One of the paintings was by Greek painter Alekos Fasianos. This is the project “Cyclists in the countryside”, ERT says.
