Los Angeles: Charred with garden hose in hand was found one of five dead in the fires

One of the five who lost his life in the fires raging in, died trying to save his house from the flames and was found charred with the tire in his hand. Their account of continuing to sweep suburbs of Los Angeles city increased to at least five dead and may become even heavier, he announced yesterday Wednesday (08.01.2025) sheriff County of California. CORVERSE Victor Shaw, one of the five dead, ignored the firemen’s calls to leave his home as the fire was dangerously approaching the Altadena area in California, Shari Shaw’s sister said, on local KTLA broadcaster, describing the moment he had to leave him behind. The 66-year-old who lived with his sister, told her that he wanted to stay behind and face the flames, as she had decided to leave their family home. “When I came back in and shouted his name, he did not answer,” his sister said. “I had to go out because the flames were so big, it was a fiery speech from which I had to be saved. CORVERSE I looked behind me and the house was beginning to wrap in flames and I had to leave.” He was found charred with the garden hose in the hand of his friend the 66-year-old, Al Tanner, said, that after the fire passed through the area, he returned to the charred property where he found Shaw’s body on the road with a rubber garden still in his hand. “It looked like he was trying to save the house his parents had had for nearly 55 years,” he told KTLA. The broadcaster reported that Shaw’s body – one of five victims of the killing fire raging uncontrollable in California – was still on the property, with the first aid spread to a large extent due to difficult conditions of fire. Thousands of acres have been burned, with about 1,500 buildings being burned down, and a large number of people have been injured – many because they did not hear warnings to leave, authorities said. The area’s fire authorities ordered over 100,000 people to leave their homes.
