The session of New Democracy commenced with Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ speech. Recent events have been dominated by the tragedy of Tempi and opposition propaganda, but now it’s time for the truth to fight back. As more information comes to light, it becomes evident that there was an organized effort to conceal the truth and manipulate public opinion on a highly charged issue. Some tried to exploit human suffering for temporary political gains. The hour of justice is approaching, and the truth will prevail. The Prime Minister highlighted significant achievements during his tenure, including raising the minimum wage from €650 to €880, creating 500,000 new jobs, and reducing unemployment below levels in Sweden, Finland, and Spain. Initiatives like free preventive health screenings and landmark legislation for private universities are moving forward. Additionally, Chevron has shown interest in explorations south of Crete, recognizing Greece’s sovereign rights. Despite these accomplishments, public discourse remains overshadowed by negativity and populism questioning national achievements. Global shifts in geopolitics and economics demand strategic responses, especially with the U.S.’s declaration of a global trade war. On Monday, the Government Economic Policy Council will convene to fortify Greece’s economy. Stability remains crucial amidst turbulent times, balancing economic growth with internal stability against domestic manipulation attempts.
