With a short Facebook post accompanied by a photo from the Koules fortress in Heraklion, New Democracy MP and former Minister of Rural Development Leuteris Avgenakis commented on recent developments concerning the OPEKEPE case. In his post, Avgenakis, referring to unverified claims, speculations, and generalizations, made it clear that he will speak out wherever necessary ‘with sobriety, institutional approach, and commitment,’ as he aptly put it. ‘Good morning and have a good month. Many things are being said and written. Often without documentation. Speculation and generalizations do not serve the truth. With clarity, institutional responsibility, and focus on substance, we will position ourselves where required,’ he stated. ‘Responsibly, seriously, and always backed by evidence. Good luck and stay strong!’
