Leonardo DiCaprio: New species of snake discovered in the Himalayas named after him

And the name of the new friendly and small found in the Himalayas… The snake “Anguiculus dicaprioi” with the bronze color, short head, large nostrils and dozens of teeth, took this name in honor of Leonardo DiCaprio who is a founder and donor to organisms to protect the environment. Researchers explained how they named the actor because he is actively active in raising awareness about global climate change and the increasing loss of biodiversity. Snakes of this species grow in length up to 55 million according to researchers from Germany, India, and the United Kingdom. Anguiculus dicaprioi was discovered when researchers in the summer of 2020 decided to look for some little known species of snakes in the context of a search for reptiles. Their reaction to the meeting with researchers was unprecedented. Snakes went on mud roads in the north of India, Himachal Pradesh, remained still until they were caught and made no attempt to bite. The snake – Leonardo DiCaprio survives up to 1,800 meters above sea level and is only active from late May to August.
