Greek authorities have arrested a Turkish national in connection with the sexual assault of a woman that occurred approximately ten days ago. According to reports from newsit.gr, the incident took place last week at a beach in Lavrio while the woman was swimming in the sea. Suddenly, a man approached her, attacked her, and sexually assaulted her before fleeing the scene.
The victim, who is around 50 years old, reported the crime at the local police station and provided a detailed description of the attacker. She explained that during the assault, she tried to grab her mobile phone to call for help. The suspect snatched the phone from her hands and threw it away.
This act proved crucial in identifying the perpetrator, as police later examined the phone for fingerprints and found a match belonging to a known Turkish national who possessed a Greek ID. On Monday (June 30, 2025), the suspect was located and subsequently arrested.
