Lavrio: Salos from the distribution of a pamphlet against homosexuals by a professor of religion – “They are worse than murderers”

Storm of reactions has erupted in his school after the distribution of pamphlets by a Professor of Religious Affairs in which homosexuals are described as worse than murderers, while among other things it is considered as the worst sin one can commit. The material, which condemns homosexuality as a sin, was shared in a high school in Lavrio during today’s (29.10.2024) educational hours with some of the students reacting and resorting to the other teachers in order to make the incident known to them. In fact, it was not a few children who informed their parents and the brochures were posted on social media. “Homosexuals are worse than murderers, because it is better to die than to live and be insulted like that. Because the killer separates his soul from the body, while the homosexual destroys the soul along with the body. There is no more disgusting, more terrible, more dishonourable thing than homosexuality,” it refers to one of the “fragments of life” of the people of the church, as characterized by the professor of religion and contained in the pamphlet he distributed. “The third grade children were given a pamphlet by the professor of religion for the purpose of the subject of the course, and what he gave them would also be material for the exams as he told them,” he tells the newsit.gr mother of a student who was in the classroom while the teacher was distributing the brochures And he adds: “At that time my child opposed and told the professor what you are doing and telling us. What do you give us? You push us into other things to do, to be against homosexuals.” Then the student’s mother as her daughter describes us continued the dialogue with the professor of religion, but he tried as she claims to degrade the child’s words. “My child continued to speak to him in favor of homosexuals, but her teacher replied that he doesn’t know. My child then informed the rest of the teachers of the brochure the professor gave them, asking them to explain why this gentleman gave them this. Then the rest of the teachers became angry with the move their colleague made,” the student’s mother tells the newsit gr. For his part the professor of religion states in newsit.gr that all this began ten days ago in a conversation he had with the children, which had expressed some questions about homosexuality. So he willingly thought of printing these tracts in response to the children. “I shared a pamphlet from St. John Chrysostom and the subject ended. They were asking me some questions, and I told them the state had a different place than the church. I found this pamphlet online and gave it to them. The kids asked me themselves, and then they told me they didn’t want to discuss this again. I told them it was my job to inform you and that these things I found for the church online and the matter ended,” he says about the incident that happened today in the classroom. In a piece of the pamphlet it is stated that there is no dirtier than a man who has been molested on him, while at another point there is this comment: “Our guardian angel is next to us and unfortunately he sees all our sins, except for this arena (homosexuality). There he turns his face and does not see.” In fact, as the teacher himself says, some of the students who were in the classroom and received his tracts asked to stop the debate on homosexuality. They had asked me about the Ark of the World and Father Anthony mentioned in the book within the third high school and explained that this matter is administrative and that we judge no one, as they judge the courts. From there the church has some positions on homosexuality. We had this conversation with the kids ten days ago, and today I gave them the flyers. I told them some things myself and so that they wouldn’t think it was mine that I told them, I gave them the printed ones from the saint who said them. It’s just that today some kids told me that we don’t like this issue and never talk about it again and we closed it,” he said.
