in

A large vessel carrying approximately 300 migrants was detected by a coast guard ship south of Chania. Accompanied by a harbor patrol boat, they will be directed to Paleochora, where disembarkation will take place. The Frontex ship identified the migrant-carrying vessel and, with the escort of the harbor vessel, will guide them to Paleochora and subsequently to the Exhibition Center of Agia in Chania. Additionally, 34 migrants previously found on Trypiti beach in Gavdos were transferred there on Thursday morning (19.06.2025). Another 73 foreigners were located in an open area of Gavdos by a Frontex drone. These migrants were transported to the Karave port on the remote island, where they spent the night until their transfer to a facility in Crete on Friday morning (20.06.2025).
