Laos: Thriller with the dead tourists of adulterated alcohol – He died another 19 year old

The thriller continues with the death case of six who allegedly died of methanol adulterated poisoning in Laos. 19-year-old Holly Bowles is the second Australian tourist died of an adulterated drink in Laos, raising the number of dead to six. “All Australians are devastated by Holly Bowles’ tragic death,” Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong said, “I express my deepest condolences to her family and friends.” Her family said in a statement she sent to the Australian media: “We are so sad to say that our beautiful girl Holly has now rested. We find comfort knowing that Holly brought so much joy and happiness to so many people.” They got shot with methanol. 19-year-old Bianca Jones, who according to Australian authorities was Bowles’ best friend, died earlier this week, after both 19-year-olds became ill on November 13 after a night out for a drink with a company in the tourist town of Vang Vieng. The 19-year-old girls, both from Melbourne, lived at Nana Backpacker Hostel in Laos and are two of the six, overall, people who died after drinking vodka with methanol in the tourist hotspot. The death of British Simone White, 28, from Orpington, Kent, was announced on Thursday. He got sick after allegedly drinking “free shots” from a local bar. The mass poisoning also killed two women from Denmark aged 20 and a 56-year-old American. Methanol, sometimes added to drinks as a cheaper alternative to alcohol, can cause severe poisoning or death. The director and owner of the hostel where the two girls from Australia lived was arrested, according to an officer of the Vang Vieng city police office, who refused to give his name. He is one of the people detained in connection with poisoning, but no charges have yet been filed. The hostel still works but does not accept new visitors. Testimonials and reports on social media from other tourists argue that victims likely consumed methanol containing drinks, an extremely toxic substance often found in smuggled alcoholic beverages. Many of the deceased were staying at the Nana Backpacker Hostel hostel, where staff were informed that the guests were ill, since they did not show up to check-out on November 13, 2024. Authorities of Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom have warned their citizens to be particularly careful when they consume alcohol in Laos about the possibility of methanol poisoning.
