Lamia: Fire Breaks Out in Abandoned Warehouses – Smoke Reaches City Center

An immediate intervention by the Fire Service was triggered by a fire that broke out around 2:30 PM on Thursday (19.06.2025) near the abandoned warehouses of the Union of Agricultural Cooperatives in the Constantinople area. The smoke from the fire reached as far as the center of Lamia, and the atmosphere over a large radius was suffocating. Three vehicles rushed to the scene and quickly brought the fire under control, which had alarmed the local residents. According to lamiareport.gr, residents continually express their intense concern and disturbance about the area, which has almost become a permanent refuge for law-breaking individuals who recklessly litter and start fires, even inside the buildings. The Fire Service is conducting a preliminary investigation into the causes of the fire.
