He focuses on one of the darkest periods of his life when he was in prison. He talked about the test he passed behind bars and the next day. He expressed complaints about the behavior and attitude of some who benefited from him and said that his dream was and remains in recent years, his re-activity, as a merchant. Lakis Gavalas gave a full interview this week in OK! magazine and journalist George Green. The well-known fashion designer was asked among others about economic adventure in the recent past as well as what the Greek state would expect. CORVERSE Were you incarcerated or imprisoned? I’ve been incarcerated for 15 months, plus the suede. Life goes on. I’m healthy, but my loved ones died, so all I’m worried about is losing two points out of my waist. The truth is, you were reborn like a phoenix. In my life I’ve worked hard. When I went to Rome alone and worked at RAI as a dancer, with twenty rehearsals a day, when we traveled to Europe and stayed five hours standing on the trains, all this hardened me. I faced the feeling of closure and deprivation, but then I enjoyed everything. I didn’t get anything easy in life. People saw what they did to me, it was unfair what happened, but it’s also bad for politicians to ignore my entity. No one came to suggest we do anything, even if they have someone to control me. But no, they preferred to have me decommissioned. What would you like to be offered? Allow me to re-enter as a merchant. To give me a new VAT, as I have not bankrupted my company, even though its assets have been lost and then I was imprisoned. I’ve paid more than that. “It hurts me very much not to talk to my sister. I tried to approach her and my nieces don’t want to. I welcome the first step. It will eventually happen. People think I’m just a job, I have feelings. I’ve been crying about my stupidity for not being strong in some things. I have lived bullying in collaborations,” said Lakis Gavalas, on the eve of 2025. In late 2010 the first difficulties in Lakis Gavalas’ business began to emerge. Both the poor management of financial matters by competent executives of Mr. Gavalas’ company and the large decline in retail sales were two of the main reasons for this negative development.
