Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ trip to Iraq postponed

Mr Mitsotakis was due to visit Baghdad and Erbil in northern Iraq

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis‘ trip to Iraq scheduled for Monday will not take place, following the attacks in recent days in the country.

Last night there was a rocket attack on Erbil airport. The attack, which took place at about 22:30 (GMT), caused no injuries or serious property damage.

On Monday night there was an attack with a UAV booby-trapped against the US embassy in Baghdad, but it was shot down by the C-RAM anti-aircraft defence systems installed by the Americans to protect their military and diplomatic personnel.
