In a brief presentation introducing eVivlio, an application that allows everyone to download and listen to free audiobooks, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis took a step forward on Sunday (23.03.25). In a TikTok video, Mitsotakis noted that “a small change in Education can make a difference.”
“eVivlio is a new application launched by the Ministry of Education. It features audio recordings of literary books voiced by famous actors and is available for both young and old,” the prime minister mentioned, highlighting that “in the first phase, 20 significant literary works, which are introduced entirely for reading in schools, will be included.”
“They are available through the app, and they will also be provided in print to students. It’s freely available to everyone! Not just for students,” he explained.
According to Mitsotakis, the app offers “the ability for students and anyone else to access reading in a new way.” Additionally, he pointed out that this is “a small change but in the right direction because we are trying to build a school that is more open and accessible.” This program aims to upgrade public education, as he stated, mentioning initiatives like the Digital Classroom, Public Excellence Schools starting in September, the ‘Marietta Giannakou’ program with interventions in hundreds of schools, the 36,000 interactive boards already in schools funded by the Recovery Fund, and the program to upgrade Gymnasium classes and remote schools.
“A small change in education! ‘The school is changing. Not with words, but with small actions that matter,’ concludes the prime minister.
