In his post at TikTok Kyriakos Mitsotakis is also shown an excerpt from his earlier message in which he notes that “we do not want torture waiting for our (s. and afternoon) surgeries”. Kyriakos Mitsotakis then emphasises: “Today, November 28, the 37,000 free afternoon surgery program with resources from the recovery fund begins! Over 1,500 free surgeries have already been scheduled for the first two weeks. Free afternoon surgeries will be held in hospitals throughout the country and we will begin with our fellow citizens with the greatest anticipations. In addition, we have digitized the Single Surgery List process so that we can be absolutely sure that the order of priority from the older surgery to the newer ones is respected. Our goal is one: We need to narrow the waiting list considerably to the operating rooms and by the end of our term of office, by 2027, approach the European average. A good day! For our fellow citizens who waited years for a regular scheduled surgery today I think it’s a good day.”
