‘ We can turn the plans into construction sites,” the Prime Minister said, welcoming an event for his reconstruction projects in Water Square, announcing that the project will be inaugurated in 2028. At the beginning of his speech at the event organized by the Region of Attica, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis referred to the reconstruction projects of the Falirian Bay that take place, pointing out that he will upgrade the coastal front of Attica, opening a “window” of the capital and Attica at sea. As Kyriakos Mitsotakis said, it is “a paradox that a coastal city for many decades did not look at the sea. We aspire in 2028 to have an iconic park. An iconic park for the entire Mediterranean, offering a way out of entertainment and sports.” The Prime Minister referred to the new Metropolitan Park to be formed, highlighting climate change factor and extreme phenomena that make it imperative to count on the design of each regeneration. Kyriakos Mitsotakis invited the citizens of Attica to trust the government, just as the citizens of Thessaloniki trusted it, who in a few hours (p. 30.11.2024) will be able to use Metro. The prime minister announced that the coastal zone would join the same organization that would supervise Metropolitan Park for better management. “We have proved that we are turning projects into construction sites,” he said that this project to a degree “has my own personal seal as I have dealt with its unblocking at European level and was not easy to do,” he stressed. Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced that “within 2025 we look forward to the contract of the project and with good within 2028, apparently before the next regional election we are all together to do the opening of this iconic work for Attica.”
