Kremlin: Putin ready for a meeting with Trump after the US President’s inauguration

The Kremlin said today, Friday (10.01.25) that there may be progress in planning a meeting between him and the Russian president following the inauguration of the elected US president on January 20. Russia is ready for negotiations on the war in Ukraine with Donald Trump when he takes office, Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov, among others, said. CORVERSE Trump said Thursday that his team has begun preparing a meeting between him and Putin, without, however, giving any timetable. The Kremlin confirmed the American president’s reports, stating that “he salutes the fact that Trump displays a desire to solve problems through dialogue.” Russia retains its position on Ukraine, which President Putin has repeatedly expressed, Dmitry Peskov divided. US President-elect Donald Trump said yesterday (09.01.25) that his team has begun preparing a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to “end” the war in Ukraine. “President Vladimir Putin wants us to meet, he has even said it publicly, and we have to end this war (in Ukraine), which is a real cyceon,” said Donald Trump. “He wants us to meet, and we have started organizing it,” he added during a meeting with Republican state governors at his residence in Mar-a-Lago, Palm Beach, Florida.
