On Friday (10.01.2025) Marinos Androulakis, the father of his current president, Nikos Androulakis, spoke about the footprint he left in the political life of the place. Kostas Simitis, former prime minister and former president of PASOK passed into the history of modern Greece as the country’s leading modernist politician. ADVERSE, moved by the death of Kostas Simitis, the father of PASOK President Marinos Androuliakis, spoke on TV CRETA and referred to their acquaintance, saying: “I met Kostas Simitis on a tour of Crete. I was amazed by this man’s personality. I saw a serious situation with such good and forward positions. He totally believed what he was saying. A man who excited me, impressed me. Since then we have become friends, I have seen him regularly.” Marinos Androuliakis described the former prime minister as serious, educated, who spoke with the actions rather than with the words and who left a great impression on the country’s political life. CORVERSE “His course was crystal, he was a man of acts. A few words and many acts. He had a plan for the place. As you have seen, he was a man who left a large footprint on Greek political life. After our great leader, Andreas Papandreou, he was the second leader of PASOK to bring the party too close to the decision centres in Europe. He spoke equally with the leaders of Europe at that time, the great names of Europe. A man too educated,” noted the father of the President of PASOK. What dominated according to Marinos Androuliakis in his contact with Kostas Simitis was the former prime minister’s willingness to develop his vision, plan and how he saw the country for the next few years. “He was a monster of education, with education in all matters. You loved listening to this man, telling you plans about Greece, geopolitics. Deep knowledgeer of things with principles and values of iron,” he stressed. PASOK’s father referred to the former prime minister’s funeral, saying what moved him. “I went to the funeral yesterday (p. 09.01.2025) in Athens, I was very moved, I saw a world very moved. Embraced by the country’s entire political spectrum”. Marinos Androuliakis considers himself happy that he had the opportunity to meet, but also to associate with Kostas Simitis and wished the new generation to be exemplary by his attitude. “I wish the new generation to learn lessons from this man so that Greece can go ahead. Because his example is too big. I’m glad I met this man in person and I can tell you that we’ve become friends. It was a good thing for me,” concluded the father of the president of PASOK.
