He and her were married since 1992 and had had a child. He stood on him like a rock until the end of his life. The memorable journalist died on 17 December 2024 at 79 years old. His widow is now preparing for the 40-day memorial since his death. The memorial will be held in a journalist’s “secret paradise”. In the place where Kostas Hardavellas and Maria Panagopoulou planned to take a vacation in the summer of 2024. CORVERSE As Maria Panagopoulos writes in her post: “Costas loved summers and the sea. He worked all year round 15 hours a day, without holidays and weekends, eternally in love with journalism, awaiting July, a month he always preferred for our vacation and then left everything behind and enjoyed every second as a little child. In the summer of 2024 he believed until the last moment that we would manage to go on vacation and he struggled superhumanly for it. When we were forced to cancel them he told me “if there is a next summer for us, I promise we will go there” referring to our beloved secret paradise. There his 40-day memorial will be held in a close family circle. For all the others, friends, colleagues or people you loved through his work all these years, we are preparing a special event, open to all, in which we will be very happy to come and honor him. ADVERSE As soon as we are ready I will let you know where, when and what will happen,” Maria Panagopoulou said in her post. See this post on Instagram. Costas Hardavella’s desire was at his funeral instead of wreaths, to strengthen even with a minimum amount the Solidarity Fund of the ESEA so that journalists who are unemployed, sick or in a distressing financial position could spend a little easier Christmas in his memory.
