Kolosourtis: The road “carmaniola” of Greece that drivers lit candle before crossing

Colossurtis is a legend road, whose name has been associated with several hairpins and which has rightly been described as a “carmaniola road”. At one time, all those who wanted to travel to the southern Peloponnese, and more specifically to Arcadia, Messinia and Laconia, were forced to cross this demanding road with the 30 turns which brought them terror as the colosseur is a difficult and demanding road. CORVERSE It is worth noting that many drivers, before or after the crossing of Kolosourtis, stopped at the chapel near Achladocampos. There they lit a candle, either to seek protection from the saints, or to thank them for being able to safely complete the route.
