KKE for fires: ND is the perpetrator in this constant and serial crime against nature

The KKE expresses its support to the residents of the areas affected by the fires, to the personnel of the fire brigade and other public services that give a heroic battle in difficult conditions, in a statement

“We call on the members and friends of the Party to continue together with the people to take the lead in helping and showing solidarity to those in need, in organizing the claim of the necessary means and infrastructure of fire protection and support for the victims. We also call on them in all parts of the country to be on alert and vigilant “, KKE notes.

“Once again we are living the tragic and painful consequences of the criminal absence of a comprehensive fire protection plan focused on prevention. “The incalculable catastrophes across the country are adding to the countless catastrophic consequences that the people are experiencing, after fires, floods, earthquakes,” he said.

According to the KKE, “the current government of ND is another perpetrator in this constant and serial crime against the natural environment, public property and threat to human life, which has burdened all governments ND – SYRIZA – PASOK / KINAL».

It also argues that the government must take all necessary measures to:

  1. Provide the necessary infrastructure and means – even now – to prevent a recurrence of similar phenomena, as we are in the middle of the fire season.
  2. There should be immediate recording of the damages and total compensation of the property of the popular families.
  3. There should be immediate measures to support local health structures with staff and resources for those in need.
  4. Immediate measures for safe housing, cleanliness and hygiene, clothing and feeding of fire-affected families.
  5. To have the immediate restoration of water supply and electricity in the affected areas.
