A fire broke out in the median strip of Kifissos Avenue on Friday, 26 June 2026, prompting an emergency response during the early afternoon. The blaze ignited in low vegetation along the central divider of the road, specifically in the northbound lane — the direction toward Lamia — near the Vriouli Bridge, at the level of Nea Filadelfeia.
Traffic Disruptions
The incident caused significant traffic congestion. Vehicles are moving at very low speeds, and long queues have formed. Conditions are further aggravated by already heavy traffic across much of the Athens basin.
Public Advisory
Motorists traveling along this stretch of Kifissos Avenue are urged to exercise extra caution and patience, as substantial delays are being reported.
