Police arrested a 21-year-old driver late Friday evening (26.06.2026) on the Athens–Lamia National Road near Kifissia, after radar equipment recorded him driving at 210 km/h — more than double the legal speed limit of 100 km/h.
According to the Hellenic Traffic Police, the young man was operating a passenger vehicle when he was detected speeding dangerously along the busy national highway, posing a serious risk to other road users.
Exceeding the speed limit by 110 km/h, he was immediately taken into custody and handcuffed by officers. A criminal file was filed against him by the 2nd Traffic Department of the Attica Motorway Police (PATHÉ Attica) for dangerous driving. He was subsequently brought before the competent public prosecutor.
