Kifisos: Multiple Car Accidents Cause Traffic Chaos in Athens

A multi-vehicle collision involving three cars occurred around 11 a.m. on Wednesday (March 19, 2025), on the Kifisos Avenue heading towards Lamia. Just minutes later, another pile-up involving five vehicles happened on the descending lane near ‘Three Bridges.’ The first accident took place at the height of Sacred Way when, for unknown reasons, three vehicles collided, causing panic among drivers. Significant delays are reported as the involved and immobilized vehicles have blocked traffic flow from Rendi up to just past Sacred Way. Emergency services, police, and EKAV are rushing to the scene to assess the health conditions of the injured, remove the vehicles, and document the accident for investigation. The ascending lane of the highway has come to a standstill as all drivers wait for the involved vehicles to be cleared. Meanwhile, a separate five-car pile-up occurred near Patissia at ‘Three Bridges,’ again under unclear circumstances. Traffic congestion is observed from Metamorfosi junction up to Galatsiou Avenue and also from Sepolia to Lower Aigaleo, with authorities working to transport the injured to hospitals and clear the roads.
