The Northern Greece Ceramics Industry (KEVE) has officially launched its new production facility in Mihajlovac, Serbia — marking a pivotal step in the company’s international expansion strategy and reinforcing its presence across the Balkan markets. Strategically located just 70 kilometers from Belgrade and along the main highway connecting Serbia with neighboring countries, the facility represents a total investment of €16.5 million. It applies the same advanced technical standards and quality specifications used at KEVE’s existing plant in Nea Santa, Kilkis.
A Modern, Scalable Facility
Spanning a total area of 117,000 square meters — including 13,000 square meters of built infrastructure — the unit begins operations with a daily production capacity of 600 tons of bricks, with plans to scale up to 1,000 tons per day by 2027.
From Greek Family Business to Regional Leader
With a 90-year legacy in ceramics manufacturing, KEVE has steadily evolved from a Greek family-owned industrial enterprise into a regional player with an expanding international footprint. The Serbian facility strengthens KEVE’s export capabilities and fosters operational synergies that enhance flexibility and competitiveness across its supply chain.
Leadership Perspective
Agis Kothalis, KEVE’s Chairman and CEO, commented: “We are delighted to complete this strategic investment, which reinforces our leadership position in the construction sector. Launching our upgraded production unit in Serbia enables us to meet future demand for high-performance building solutions, while significantly boosting our production capacity and market presence across the Balkans. At the same time, repurposing and revitalizing existing infrastructure is a tangible expression of our commitment to sustainability — responsibly leveraging existing resources and minimizing our environmental footprint.”
