Katia Dandoulati: ‘For me, Nikos Galanopoulos was our youth, dreams, and loves’

On Wednesday morning (May 21, 2025), at the Sacred Cemetery Church of Papagou, Katia Dandoulati bid farewell to Isidoros from ‘The Land of Olive,’ who lost his battle with cancer. The renowned artist expressed her heartfelt condolences, revealing what Nikos Galanopoulos meant to her. Nikos Galanopoulos passed away on Monday (May 19, 2025), leaving a void in both the artistic community and Greece as a whole. During the ceremony, Dandoulati spoke about the legendary artist, emphasizing the beautiful years they spent together. It is noted that the two were once engaged. Speaking emotionally, Dandoulati said, “Nikos was our youth, our dreams, our hopes, our claims, our laughter, tears, loves, disappointments, and our generation. I am grateful for this generation because we lived beautifully and had bright lights ahead of us. These lights illuminated Nikos for so many years; now he shines with an even brighter, celestial light. He is back among the light.” Many well-known actors attended the funeral, including Thodoris Katsafados, Lydia Koniorou, Paschalis Tsarouchas, Katerina Geronikolou, Andreas Georgiou, Spyros Bampilas, Maria Ioannidou, Stratos Tzortzoglou, Vasia Panagopoulou, Tasos Iordanidis, and all co-stars from the series ‘The Land of Olive.’
