Katerina Zarifi: ‘As a Girl, I Wanted to Suppress My Feminine Side’

In an interview on the show ‘Xamogela kai Pali’ (Saturday, March 23, 2025), Katerina Zarifi opened up about her personal and professional life. She explained that she always wanted to suppress her feminine side as a child because living in a country where masculinity is easier, it became a defense mechanism for her. Zarifi also talked about her love for radio, calling it her ‘spouse,’ and praised Maria Solomou’s podcast despite disagreeing with some of her views. Regarding her personal life, she expressed her happiness and love for her children but admitted facing doubts due to societal comments. She emphasized the need for more social awareness and education to combat fear and racism. When asked about her return to ‘Buongiorno,’ she clarified it wasn’t out of necessity but rather a choice to rejoin familiar territory.
