In a rare candid interview, renowned actress Katerina Papoutsaki spoke about her divorce from Panagiotis Pilafa and her battle with Crohn’s disease. She emphasized that she does not view the end of her marriage as a personal failure. For many, divorce might represent failure, but Papoutsaki sees it differently. ‘Personally, I don’t feel this way (that divorce is a personal failure). I feel like you move forward after trying more than you can endure. You don’t give up at the first difficulty,’ she stated in an interview with OK! magazine. She further explained how one cannot offer joy to their children when they themselves have lost it. The actress also discussed her experience with Crohn’s disease, which she attributes to immense psychological stress. ‘Mental health is very important and has a direct impact on our physical well-being. I developed Crohn’s disease, fortunately not in a severe form, so I know my body reacts under suffocating conditions,’ she revealed.
