A shocking revelation has come to light regarding Kate Middleton’s battle with cancer. A royal writer disclosed that the Princess of Wales was critically ill before her critical surgery in January 2024. The year 2024 was challenging for Kate Middleton, as she underwent abdominal surgery and was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer. Although she has since revealed that the cancer is in remission, she continues her recovery journey after battling the illness. Last week, Kate reportedly felt disappointed for not being able to attend events, as she still struggles to regain her balance following her severe health challenges. In a new article for MailOnline, journalist Rebecca English implied the severity of the princess’s health issues last year. Without revealing specifics, the journalist stated: “As I have already revealed, the princess was seriously ill before the operation. And while this is a story that belongs only to her—if she ever chooses to share it—based on what I know, she is lucky to be able to talk about her recovery today.” It was in January 2024 when Kate underwent abdominal surgery, keeping her illness away from public scrutiny. Around the same time, King Charles was also diagnosed with cancer. Palace sources told The Sunday Times that the royal family decided to prioritize family over royal duties. Her aides emphasized that Kate would stay out of the public eye for several months while continuing her work behind the scenes. Two months after the surgery, she announced her cancer diagnosis and began chemotherapy, describing it as a “very difficult” process. Throughout the year, the princess chose to keep a low profile, appearing only at a few public events like Trooping the Colour and Wimbledon. In the fall, she announced the completion of her treatment and described her experience in a video as “complex, terrifying, and unpredictable.” Following this announcement, Kate made more frequent appearances, including the official visit of the Emir of Qatar, Remembrance Day, and the annual Christmas concert. One year after the initial surgery, the mother of three revealed that her cancer is in remission. Returning to the Royal Marsden Hospital where she received treatment, she said: “It is a relief to now be in remission, and I remain committed to my recovery. Those who have faced a cancer diagnosis know it takes time to adjust to a new reality. Nonetheless, I look forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to anticipate. I thank everyone for their continued support.”
