Kasimatis: Syriza’s Outcasts Want Kasselakis in Parliament

Syssomos, the Greek and Cypriot outcast, asks “the seat of the State to remain in the Apompolitans” with Nina Kassimatis reporting in a post made on Monday evening (26/8/24)… In her post she attached the press release, which states that the Greek and members of SYRIZA are asking to continue through Stefanos Kasselakis, their representation in the House, after Otto Iliopoulos resigned. “As Greek and Greek and members of Sy.RIZ. A.– Progressive Alliance in foreign member organisations we ask that the representation of the Greek Republic in the SYRIZA-PS Parliamentary Group continue. Otto Iliopoulos’ resignation for personal reasons, which we thank and honor for his contribution, and his desire to be replaced by the other Greek of our ballot, namely the President of SYRIZA-PS, Stefanos Kasselakis, not only reflects the will of the thousands of voters of our party, and especially of the expatriates, but is a leading act of political courage and empathy, of the desire of our base.” And the press release continues: “It is a political decision that respects the spirit of the law and suggests our commitment to the right of election for the outcasts, which the government of the New Republic refused. At the same time we want the President to be given the opportunity to take full responsibility for his duties as the Leader of the Opposition Officer. For all these reasons we invite all the runner-up and runner-up of the ballot of State to respect our desire and resign in turn so that the parliamentary representation of the Greek Republic may continue and SYRIZA-P has.
