Award-winning actors John Lithgow and Jimmy Smits are set to reprise their roles as Arthur Miller, also known as the Trinity Killer, and Miguel Prado, respectively, in the new season of the iconic franchise ‘Dexter.’ The latest Showtime series, ‘Dexter: Resurrection,’ began filming in New York in January. Lithgow’s portrayal of the sinister Trinity Killer earned him an Emmy, Critics’ Choice Award, SAG Award, and a Golden Globe nomination. Smits was Emmy-nominated for his role in the third season. According to Deadline, fans of the legendary series have grown accustomed to resurrections, a theme reinforced by Lithgow’s return in ‘Dexter: New Blood.’ In this new spinoff led by Michael C. Hall, David Zayas, Jack Alcott, Harrison Morgan, and James Remar also return. New additions include Uma Thurman, Peter Dinklage, and Kadia Saraf, among others. Creator Clyde Phillips serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Scott Reynolds and others. Monica Raymund will direct four episodes, while Marcos Siega will handle the remaining six. Lithgow boasts two Tony Awards, six Emmys, two Golden Globes, three SAG Awards, and two Oscar nominations in his career. Recently, he starred in ‘Conclave’ by Edward Berger and lent his voice to the animated film ‘Spellbound.’ He is also expected to portray Albus Dumbledore in HBO’s ‘Harry Potter’ series.
