John Fetterman: The two-foot senator with the social work that appeared in shorts in Donald Trump’s inauguration

Its time may have required official clothing, but Senator John Fetterman has not changed for this important moment of his habits either. In 2001 Fetterman, moved to Braddock, Pennsylvania (a popular suburbs area in Pittsburgh), where he helped young people, in order to complete their education. During his mayorship he managed to create community centres, repair and develop the damaged city buildings, offer free housing for rent, activate its economy, create programs that promote education and arts, attracting young artists from all over the country, as well as develop an original biological farm unit. Fetterman caused a feeling when he realized his promise that for every murder that happens in Braddock, he’ll tattoo it with the corresponding zip code. Finally, he lost in the primary election, mainly because he did not have the required capital. In the 2018 Pennsylvania government election, Fetterman was elected 34th Deputy Governor of Pennsylvania, along with Governor Tom Wolf. He took office, on January 15, 2019. On 3 January 2023, however, he resigned from Lieutenant Governor’s office, in order to be sworn in as Senator. Fetterman, is married to Brazilian-born activist, Giselle Baretto Almeida since 2008, and have had three children, and live in a processed former car dealership. He has refused to live in the Lieutenant Governor’s official residence, so that the residence facilities (such as the swimming pool), remain open to the public. He is considered a progressive Democrat, belonging to the socialist (social democratic) wing of Bernie Sanders’ Democratic Party. He is 2.03 meters tall, and has recently spoken openly about his weight loss, as he lost 70 kg. In May 2022, he suffered a stroke a few days before winning the Democratic Party nomination.
