James Taylor’s New Musical ‘Fire & Rain’ Set to Debut on Broadway

The legendary singer-songwriter James Taylor is set to make his debut with a musical based on his timeless songs. Titled ‘Fire & Rain,’ the show is currently in development and will feature some of his biggest hits, including the titular song from 1970, which appears on his second album ‘Sweet Baby James,’ as well as ‘You’ve Got a Friend’ and ‘How Sweet It Is.’ Written by the acclaimed playwright and actor Tracy Letts, the production will be directed by Tony Award winner David Cromer. James Taylor has been honored with six Grammy Awards and has been inducted into both the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame since 2000. He is also the first artist to have an album in the Top 10 of Billboard across the last six decades. The premiere date for ‘Fire & Rain’ has not yet been announced, according to AP.
