Former International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge has died

Sadness has spread in the sports world upon hearing the news that the former president of the International Olympic Committee, Jacques Rogge, passed away at the age of 79.

The Belgian “immortal” was the eighth president of the IOC, serving from 2001 to 2013, while he was the man at the helm of the IOC during the Athens Olympic Games in 2004. In fact, in terms of his professional capacity, he was an orthopedic surgeon.
