Energy & Metals and Iveco Defence Vehicles (IDV) have signed an Exclusive Cooperation Memorandum (MoU), initiating a joint effort in the Ministry of National Defense program to renew the fleet of military trucks – armored and non-armored – for all three branches of the Greek Armed Forces. The agreement between IDV, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of military trucks and combat vehicles, and METLEN, through its recently announced defense hub in Volos, aims to combine the expertise and experience of both companies to provide advanced defense solutions to the Greek Armed Forces and potentially other European countries’ armed forces. This strategic collaboration with IDV highlights METLEN’s enhanced position in the defense sector, leveraging its long-standing expertise in complex metal constructions and experience in supporting advanced technology defense programs, such as composite armor bonding for modern military vehicles. METLEN remains committed to investing in cutting-edge technologies within the defense industry, contributing to the long-term resilience of the Greek Armed Forces. Meanwhile, the Exclusive Cooperation Memorandum underscores IDV’s leadership role in the European defense industry as a key player in land defense. The collaboration aligns with broader European efforts to strengthen defense autonomy and industrial self-sufficiency. With the signing of the MoU, METLEN and IDV create favorable conditions to further enhance Greece’s domestic production capacity in defense and its industrial contribution to European defense initiatives.
