Italy: Moroccan Couple Smuggled Newborn Girl in Plastic Bag to Sell Her

In a shocking incident, a Moroccan couple was caught trying to smuggle a newborn girl into Italy inside a plastic bag. The baby’s entry into the country was not recorded, and according to reports, during the entire journey by ship from Morocco, the infant remained inside the plastic bag, endangering her life and causing immense distress and exhaustion. Two other Moroccan citizens residing in Italy were also arrested on charges of complicity. The police found the baby at their residence, where they claimed she was being temporarily hosted. The Italian police operation has been named ‘Save the Baby,’ and efforts are underway to locate the child’s biological mother in Morocco, who reportedly gave birth last August.
