A chaotic incident unfolded today (May 21, 2025) when Israeli soldiers fired warning shots toward a delegation of foreign diplomats visiting the Jenin area in the West Bank. The group, which included approximately 30 ambassadors and consuls from European and other countries, was on an official visit to the region when the unexpected event occurred. Televised footage captured the dramatic moments as the diplomats quickly evacuated the area.

According to Israeli media reports, the diplomatic delegation had coordinated their visit with the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), receiving approval for a specific route due to the presence in an active conflict zone. However, the IDF claimed that the delegation deviated from the approved path, entering a prohibited area with ongoing hostilities. As a result, Israeli forces stationed nearby fired warning shots into the air.

In a statement released via social media shortly after the incident, the IDF apologized for the occurrence but emphasized that the group did not adhere to the agreed-upon route. No injuries were reported. Following the incident, Brigadier General Yakir Dolf, commander of the relevant division, immediately launched an investigation. Additionally, military officials involved were instructed to communicate directly with representatives of the affected countries and will soon meet personally with the diplomats to provide updates on the ongoing inquiry.

The IDF expressed regret over any distress caused by the incident.
