Israel Strikes IRGC Air Force Command Center in Beirut

Escalating tensions in the Middle East continue as Israel carries out extensive airstrikes across Lebanon under its ongoing operation ‘Roar of the Lion’. According to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), more than 500 targets have been struck since the operation began. A new wave of air raids hit Beirut’s Dahiyeh neighborhood earlier today, with the IDF confirming strikes on multiple command centers linked to Hezbollah and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Targeted Command Infrastructure

Among the sites hit was a command center used by the IRGC’s air force — a unit distinct from Iran’s regular military and directly answerable to the country’s Supreme Leader. Other targeted facilities included command hubs operated by Hezbollah’s naval unit, its executive council, and its financial wing.

The IDF stated these centers were actively used to plan and coordinate attacks against Israel. It emphasized that Hezbollah is operating under the direct patronage of the Iranian regime — a claim central to Israel’s justification for striking infrastructure tied not only to the Lebanese group but also to Tehran’s regional proxies.

Operational Safeguards and Continued Campaign

Israeli forces say they implement measures to minimize civilian harm before launching strikes, including advance warnings, precision-guided munitions, and real-time aerial surveillance. Still, the campaign remains highly contentious amid growing regional instability — particularly as U.S.-Iran tensions intersect with Israel’s conflict with Hezbollah.

The IDF reiterated its commitment to continuing operations against Hezbollah until it no longer poses a threat to Israeli citizens — framing the group’s actions as an extension of Iranian aggression rather than an independent actor.
