Israel: Moment an Iranian Cluster Bomb Fragment Hits a Children’s Playground

Today (June 20, 2025), Israel’s Beersheba was targeted with a cluster bomb in Iran’s latest attack, as evidenced by drone footage shared on social media. Videos and photos from the southern city of Israel show multiple detonations of small munitions across various locations, suggesting that the attack involved a ballistic missile armed with a cluster warhead. One of these smaller munitions struck a children’s playground. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in Beersheba. On Thursday, the Israeli Home Front Command confirmed that Iran had launched at least one ballistic missile carrying a cluster warhead towards central Israel. The missile’s warhead opened during descent, approximately 7 kilometers above ground, dispersing around 20 smaller munitions containing roughly 2.5 kilograms of explosives over an area spanning about 8 kilometers.
