Israel Launches Airstrikes on Hezbollah Targets in Beirut – Evacuation Ordered

in

Despite a ceasefire agreement reached in November 2024, Israeli military forces continue their deadly airstrikes in Lebanon. On April 27, 2025, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) issued an evacuation order to residents of a southern suburb in Beirut ahead of a new wave of bombings targeting Hezbollah positions. IDF spokesperson Avichay Adraee announced via social media that residents should vacate several buildings in the Haddad neighborhood of Beirut and move at least 300 meters away. The warning marked the first such alert in nearly a month, further testing the fragile ceasefire. Residents reported hearing gunfire in the area, believed to be warnings for people to evacuate, followed by increased traffic on nearby roads. Shortly after 6 p.m. local time, Israeli forces began bombing the southern part of Beirut. Earlier today, Lebanon’s Health Ministry announced that a man was killed by a drone strike in southern Lebanon, attributed to Israel, which claimed it targeted a Hezbollah fighter. Despite the ceasefire implemented in November 2024 following two months of conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, Israeli forces frequently conduct attacks in Lebanon, targeting fighters and infrastructure linked to the Iran-backed movement.
