As the world awaited Benjamin Netanyahu’s response to bring an end to the 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran, Tel Aviv confirmed its agreement with the U.S.-proposed ceasefire on Tuesday morning. According to Reuters, Benjamin Netanyahu’s office stated that Israel agreed with Donald Trump’s proposal for a ceasefire with Iran while emphasizing that Israel would respond “forcefully” to any violations of the truce. The announcement noted that Israel had achieved its goal of removing Iran’s nuclear and ballistic threats, thanking President Trump for his support. Despite the ceasefire announcement, Tehran launched new rockets against Haifa and Beersheba, resulting in five deaths and 20 injuries. Trump, however, remains steadfast in praising the peace efforts, calling the ceasefire final and stating it began at 7 a.m. In a Truth Social post, he credited the skills of U.S. B-2 pilots for helping broker the deal. At least five people were killed in Israel before the ceasefire officially started, with sirens warning residents of incoming rocket attacks.
