Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Threaten to Block Oil Exports Through Strait of Hormuz

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a stark warning that it will halt all oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz if U.S. and Israeli military operations continue. In a highly charged statement, IRGC commander Ali Mohammad Naeini dismissed former U.S. President Donald Trump as the ‘lying president of America’ during a televised address on Monday night, March 9, 2026.

Escalating Rhetoric Amid Regional Tensions

Naeini accused Trump of fabricating claims about Iran’s military capabilities being depleted, calling such statements outright falsehoods aimed at misleading the public and deflecting from battlefield setbacks. He asserted that Iranian forces are striking with greater intensity now than in the early days of the conflict — contradicting U.S. assertions of declining Iranian drone and missile activity.

The commander also claimed that American naval and air assets have withdrawn more than 1,000 kilometers from Iranian missile and drone defense systems — a claim reported by Tasmin News. According to him, numerous U.S. military installations across the Persian Gulf have been damaged or destroyed, including around 10 advanced radar systems and several drones shot down by Iranian air defenses.

‘Not a Single Liter’ of Oil Will Pass

In a direct challenge to U.S. threats, Naeini declared that Iranian armed forces ‘will not allow the export of even a single liter of oil’ from the region until further notice — citing ongoing attacks by U.S. and Israeli forces as justification. He emphasized that Tehran retains full freedom to escalate hostilities and that Iran alone will determine when and how the war ends.

Naeini concluded with a pointed warning: Iranian forces are prepared to confront the U.S. Navy — specifically naming the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) — in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz. ‘The United States will not be the one to end this war,’ he stated.
