The conflict between Iran and Israel—and the United States—has escalated sharply, with Israeli and U.S. forces reportedly launching strikes on Tehran. In response, Iran is carrying out retaliatory actions and issuing broad warnings to any country considering support for Tel Aviv or Washington.
Warning to European Nations
In an interview with FRANCE 24, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi stated that Tehran has already informed European governments—and all other nations—to avoid involvement in what Iran describes as an ‘aggression’ against it. He warned that any country joining the U.S. and Israel in attacking Iran would become a ‘legitimate target’ for Iranian retaliation.
Claims of Failed Diplomacy
Takht-Ravanchi said Iranian officials had engaged in negotiations with the U.S. in ‘good faith’, citing last Thursday’s talks in Geneva as ‘successful’. He then accused the U.S. government—‘with the help of the Israeli regime’—of launching an attack on Iran just two days later, on Saturday.
Cross-Border Operations in Iraq
The deputy foreign minister also confirmed that Iran is conducting military operations against Kurdish armed groups operating inside neighboring Iraq. This comes amid reports alleging that the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Israel’s Mossad are arming those groups. ‘If there is a need to protect our sovereignty, of course we will do so,’ he said.
