Iranian Diplomat Denies Israel Attacked Bushehr Nuclear Plant

An Iranian diplomat has told Reuters that the Bushehr nuclear plant was not attacked by Israel, contradicting earlier claims from Tel Aviv and referring to it as a ‘psychological war.’ Earlier today, confusion arose when an Israeli military representative claimed that Israel had struck Bushehr. However, shortly afterward, another military source labeled the statement erroneous, stating they could neither confirm nor deny any attack on the Bushehr facility along the Persian Gulf coast in Iran. Meanwhile, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran announced that an alleged Israeli strike hit a heavy water installation in Arak, with no casualties reported. The organization assured there is ‘no threat to residents’ surrounding the area. Additionally, Alexei Likhachev, head of Russia’s state nuclear energy corporation Rosatom, warned that any potential Israeli attack on Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant could lead to a ‘Chernobyl-type nuclear disaster.’
