Iran: Successful Evacuation of 16 Greeks from Tehran to Azerbaijan

The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs and embassies in Iran and Azerbaijan have been working on the return of 16 Greeks since intense bombings began between Tel Aviv and Tehran. Following coordination efforts, a challenging land evacuation was successfully completed, moving the Greeks from Iran to Azerbaijan. The goal of the Greek diplomatic authorities is to repatriate these citizens and their families. On Wednesday, the evacuees crossed the border with Egypt by road and were flown back to Eleusis by military aircraft, where they were met by relatives. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that under extraordinary conditions, a successful land evacuation of 16 Greek citizens and their family members from Iran to Azerbaijan was achieved through meticulous planning and coordination with Greek embassies in Tehran and Baku. All efforts are now focused on ensuring the safe repatriation of Greek nationals.
