Iran: Powerful Explosions in Tehran Reported as Israel Strikes Nuclear Sites

Powerful explosions were reported on Monday (June 23) in northern Tehran, with the Iranian Red Crescent mentioning an Israeli strike near one of its buildings. This comes amid ongoing tensions and the 11th day of conflict between Iran and Israel. According to Iranian media, the Fordo nuclear facilities were hit once again, alongside an Israeli attack near the Iranian Red Crescent’s building. Thick clouds of smoke were seen rising across various areas of the Iranian capital, though AFP reporters couldn’t confirm which structures were impacted by the Israeli strikes. The latest Israeli airstrikes occurred shortly after Iran launched a new wave of ballistic missiles against Israel, hitting the Andont power plant. The Tehran Power Distribution Company was struck during this recent offensive, causing power outages in northern Tehran. Meanwhile, the Israeli military announced it had initiated a series of attacks targeting military objectives within Tehran.
